Grievance Procedure

A student may have a grievance against a staff member or against another student. Frequently, grievances are legitimate, and it benefits both the student and the school to air and resolve these grievances. The following procedure is designed to resolve grievances as quickly and satisfactorily as possible:
  1. If a grievance is against any member of the staff or a student, a private meeting between the offended party and the offending party shall be arranged to determine if the grievance can be resolved.

  2. If this meeting does not resolve the problem, then the assistant director should meet with both parties to discuss the problem and try to reach a resolution.

  3. Should this meeting prove unsatisfactory, then another meeting with parties, the academic director and the president shall be held. The director will then make a recommendation to the president of the college to resolve the problem.

  4. If the above-mentioned procedures fail to resolve the matter, then the president will make the final decision and present it to all parties.
