Manicuring Curriculum
Manicuring entails teaching the art of manicuring,
(care of nails), pedicuring, [care of the feet], artificial nail design
and nail repair in both practical and theory classes. Upon completion
of 600 clock hours, approximately 4.5 months @ 40 hours per week,
and a passing grade of 80% on the senior board exams, the student
may then be certified to take the Washington National Interstate Cosmetology
examinations for his/her licensure. The license will enable the manicurist
to provide beauty services for the public. There are many fields open
to a qualified manicurist, i.e. manicuring, pedicuring, artificial
nail technician, nail artist, (including air brushing, sales representative,
factory representative, salon owner and/or manager in the following
field of employment. (Accelerated course offered may be completed
in 3–1/2 months.)
Possible manicuring paths career paths include: Manicurist, pedicurist, artificial nail tech, industry rep/educator, salon owner/manager, retail/wholesale sales, and instructor. |
