“At 26 years old I have experienced things that young women my age could only dream about. To name a few: being crowned ‘Miss Plus America 2005-06’, working for fashion magazine ‘Skortch’ as a music editor, and working in radio as an on-air personality. I began my career straight out of high school working for numerous radio stations over the past 9 years. With the increase of technology and the popularity of terrestrial radio decreasing, I've opened my options and decided to brainstorm a quick backup plan, as well as a successful career that I am passionate about. Being 26, I didn't feel that I had time to spend at a four-year university. The beauty industry is always in demand and I do have a lot of interest in it, so I began to research schools. After visiting and studying curriculum and time commitments of all schools in the Portland/Vancouver area, I decided on participating in the Cosmetology program at Vancouver School of Beauty. Not only do they offer a payment plan and night classes, but they are flexible with my schedule which allows me to continue my non-traditional profession and activities. I'm excited about my new career pathway and am confident about my education at Vancouver School of Beauty.” — Kristina Zsenyth |
